How to properly comment on blogs

Commenting on blogs may be a good marketing step. If you write a meaningful comment where your target audience goes, you can strengthen your relationship with the blogger (author), establish contact with their readers, strengthen your role of an expert in the field, and also attract people to your website.

What should you avoid in your comments?

  1. Disrespect.
  2. A short, general comment, which is not specific enough to the article. Phrases like "I agree" or "well-written" have no real impact. Rather, try to start a conversation.
  3. Controversial comments written just to bee noticed. People will just skip them while reading.
  4. Comment with lots of hyperlinks. It becomes clear that you are writing only to attract visitors to your own site. You will be considered a spammer.
  5. Comment with typos and mistakes. Although blogs are informal, mistakes and typos will undermine your credibility.
