Active listening is a term that people often hear, or even use, without knowing exactly what it means. It is form of communication in which you let the other person talk most of the time, but you listen carefully. You even notice things that seemed hidden, and it allows you to read between the lines. You analyse what you hear, and at the same time you show the other person that you're listening.
