Türk Telekom International triumphs at Global Carrier Awards
Türk Telekom International has been named best Central and Eastern European Wholesale Carrier at the Global Carrier awards 2013.
Türk Telekom International (TTI) - the leading telecommunication operator in the CEE region, Turkey, Caucasus and Middle East was awarded with The Best Central & Eastern European Wholesale Carrier award at Capacity Europe 2013, the most important event dedicated to the international wholesale telecommunication industry, which took place in Amsterdam on 19th of November 2013.
The award was granted based on the innovative and visionary development strategy TTI applied in 2013 and for its outstanding performance throughout the Central & East European wholesale telecoms marketplace. On the short list of companies nominated for this award were also Brilliant Telecom, GTS Europe and Romtelecom.
“We are very honored to receive this award and see our efforts acknowledged by the international wholesale telecommunication industry. This award is a testament of the strength of our brand and our dedication to excellence in service. We are committed to make Turkey as the center of data and voice exchange and invest heavily in new markets to extend our neighbors reach to Western Europe and the whole world.
We will continue to bridge the continents for the decades to come.” - commented Cengiz Öztelcan, CEO of Türk Telekom International.
The judges noted that Türk Telekom Group’s international data and wholesale voice business, Türk Telekom International (TTI), rebranded from Pantel earlier this year had put a lot of effort towards making this change a success. In addition, “TTI’s marketing team developed a unique voice and image for the rebranded company and prides itself on its “out of the box” thinking. As one of Central and Eastern Europe’s biggest players, TTI’s achievement backs a number of successes for the company this year. These include a diversified portfolio of new services, a network expansion across the south Balkans, the implementation of a PoP in Tirana, Albania, and a DWDM network extension between Sofia, Bulgaria and Skopje, Macedonia”.
Picking winners from a record 150 entrants was facilitated by a structured scoring regime designed to ensure maximum possible objectivity. Judge Professor Dieter Lange stated “the new marking system allows a very distinct evaluation of the carrier initiatives and ensures that all relevant aspects are taken into account.”
The Global Carrier Awards have become the biggest and most prestigious awards event of the wholesale telecoms calendar. Now in its eighth year 2013 attracted more entries and higher profile attendance than ever before with over 300 of the most influential industry executives congregating at the Hotel Okura, Amsterdam for the ceremony on 19th November.
