Ragan's PR Daily presents several tips on how to use Pinterest to effectively support your PR.
- Think with your eyes. This social media is full of images. If you cannot visualize your message, then it may be better to skip Pinterest.
- Keep a balance between promoting yourself and support others.
- Provide picture / photo stories of your customers.
- Pin interesting things from your industry and ask others to add things to your board.
- Think about events at which your company participated - for example, public presentations, conferences, etc. Older photos can be useful even today.
- Pin videos. Most people do not even know that this is possible on Pinterest.
- Add the "pin it" button on different parts of your website.
- Share articles, stories and posts from your blog.
- Ask employees to create their own boards. They can focus on their hobbies, skills, but also their family if they want.
- Share blogs and websites that you like. That way you support the whole sector.
- Share best practice. Implement it in your business sector.
- Present articles from important reporters. They will notice where their readers came from and it will become easier to establish relationship with them.
- Use fairs and conferences.
- Optimize descriptions of your posts for search engines. A photo labeled: "This is really cool!" is unlikely to be searched for. And you do want your posts to be found.
- Make sure that the embedded hyperlinks work. There is nothing worse than when you click on an image to buy something and learn that the URL was not found.
- Measure results and gradually find out what works.
