The most recent sins in social marketing

The basic sins on social media are described quite often. Now, the portal Social Media Today took a step further. Most companies have the basics of communication in social marketing mastered and began to make new mistakes that evoke negative emotions. Let's look at them in more detail:

  1. Misappropriation. When a new President is elected, it is not necessary to put his name to each post just to be searchable. This makes the reader uncomfortable and the post will turn into spam.
  2. Abandonment. I.e. hit the publish button and leave. The biggest sin in modern social marketing is when you abandon the re-engagement, i.e., do not not respond to the comments of fans.
  3. Manipulations. Some brands only publish posts with pictures just to help the EdgeRank on Facebook. Forgetting the primary goal of individual posts, which is to inspire people. Another way of manipulations is a request of comments or likes.
  4. Ignorance or not following the conditions of individual platforms. Rules of game are changing and many players are do not follow, thereby exposing themselves to risks of disqualification, ie deletion of the account.
  5. Monotony. I.e., repeating same thing over and over again. Try to hold the topic from different perspectives and in different ways.
  6. Narcissism. Logo on everything you publish will not make you a trend setter.
  7. Uniformity across platforms. Every social network has different advantages. If you do not use them to your benefit and publish the same content everywhere, your audience will become bored and will replace you with another brand.
