Facebook knows when you fall in love

On Friday, ie on Valentine's Day, Facebook announced a surprising news: It turned out that they can predict when people change their status from single to "in a relationship." Big Brother can forecast this using simple statistical methods.

It turned out that in the course of approximately 100 days before two people change the status to "in a relationship", there is a gradual increase in posts to each other's timeline. The peak of this virtual communication occurs 12 days before "the day 0" arises, i.e., the day when the couple changes their status. Then the number of posts on the wall will decrease.

These findings are part of a wider analysis by Facebook, which explores issues of love.

Facebook assumes that the decrease in interaction online is due to the fact that the couple will spend more time together in the real physical world. In addition, online communication in this period changes and includes more words which express positive emotions, such as love, nice, happy.

What other personal information can Facebook find out about us through analysis of our timeline posts? How will this improve targeting opportunities in advertising? Discuss in the comments.
