Be concise
As stated in an article in the online magazine Business Matters, the vision should not be complicated. If you have to spend more than a couple of minutes explaining what you have prepared for the team, that is already too long. Your definition of the team's vision needs to be short, brief, powerful and completely clear.
Use stories
Everyone likes to hear stories. This is because they can relate to them. Stories also help people understand the structure and main ideas even within complex problems. When you communicate your vision to the team, use your imagination and utilise a simple story to describe where the team needs to go.
Build on the company values
Your company will definitely have some core values. These are manifested in the culture and employer brand of that company. Use these company values and base your team's vision on them.
Serve as a role model
Whatever your plans for the team, the best way to motivate your subordinates to commit to your vision is to lead by example. Define what you want your subordinates to do, but at the same time make sure above all that you yourself are fulfilling the vision and the plans.
