Why do you not hear from a client you thought you had won over?

This is one of the most frustrating situations that a salesperson can encounter. First there is a meeting with a prospect that seems to be absolutely perfect because the salesperson feels the product fits the client amazingly well. The client likes the product too; conditions, payment and all other formalities are agreed upon. But then nothing happens and when the salesperson tries to get in touch with the prospect again, there is only silence and the lead just fades away. Why do such scenarios, illogical at first sight, happen? We have an answer.
